Sydney's Page What Do I Do?

I'm no longer a postdoctoral research associate in the lab of Carl Frieden in the department of Biochemistry & Molecular Biophysics at Washington University School of Medicine.

I received a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology from The Massachusetts Institute of Technology and a Ph.D. in Biochemistry from the Division of Biology and Biomedical Sciences at Washington University in St. Louis .

We've published several Papers of my protein folding studies using stopped-flow NMR to probe sidechain environment of fluorotryptophan labeled E. coli dihydrofolate reductase (DHFR) during unfolding or refolding. Click (here) for a diagram of DHFR showing the five tryptophans. Details of our stopped flow device are available by contacting or emailing Carl Frieden.

I've been married since 1982 to Rod Cadanau (warning: many pictures), who is also my brother in Alpha Phi Omega National Service Fraternity. The primary purpose of this page is to present my work and give good access to some favorite links, but bits of my own writing and some personal favorites are tucked about. This site also hosts Rennie's Page, a guide to the care of dogs with bladder cancer (transitional cell carcinoma).
